CONCERT ATTIRE The Pemigewasset Choral Society requires strict compliance to concert attire in order to maintain a uniform and professional presentation. There should be no distraction to the audience by individual appearances. Members should respect the effort made by all other members adhering to the code.
GENERAL ATTIRE
Wear all black (black shirt and pants or skirt, or black dress).
Skirts and dresses should be ankle-length.
Shirts should be blouses or dress shirts (no t-shirts or casual wear) with long or three-quarter length sleeves.
Shirts/dresses should leave no exposed shoulders, arms, or chests/cleavage.
Black shawls and cardigans are allowed.
Please do not wear any shiny, sparkly or highly reflective clothes of any kind, since they stand out in the stage lights and pictures.
If belts are used, they should be plain black with no embellishments.
If suspenders are worn, they should be black.
Wear black shoes and black socks or hose.
No open toes or metallic trim in shoes are allowed.
Shoes should be comfortable enough for standing for a long time but not sneakers, sandals, or other informal footwear.
OTHER ACCESSORIES
Small non-showy earrings may be worn.
No necklaces, purses, hats, or colored hair accessories are allowed.
OTHER CONCERT-TIME CONSIDERATIONS
No gum chewing during concert performance.
No fragrances should be worn during rehearsals or concerts. These include perfume, cologne, after shave, scented hair spray, scented deodorant, etc. that could cause allergic reactions.
Visible body piercings should be covered, or their attached jewelry removed.
Rings and medical alerts may be worn.
Water bottles must be left in the dressing room during concerts.
Watch alarms, cell phones, and pagers must be turned off.
Music folders should be held down in the left hand when entering and leaving the stage.
