Music Director - William Gunn

In addition to his position as Music Director for the Pemigewasset Choral Society, William Gunn is the director of music at Plymouth Regional High School where he conducts the Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and teaches a year-long guitar elective.

Gunn received his Bachelor of Music in music education from Ithaca College and his Masters of Music in Conducting from Colorado State University. He has studied conducting with Wes Kenney, Dwight Bigler, Steve Peterson, and Eric Hammer. He is the immediate past president of the New Hampshire chapter of the American Choral Directors’ Association and serves as the High School Repertoire and Resources chair for ACDA Eastern Region.

Gunn’s school choirs have consistently received high ratings at local and regional festivals. In 2014, the PRHS Chamber Singers were chosen to be the featured choir at the All New England Choral Festival. In 2016, the PRHS Concert Choir premiered a new work in collaboration with the ALS Association of New England and raised over two thousand dollars for ALS research. The new composition included text by a local author and community member who lost the battle to ALS in 2015. He has also collaborated on new commissions with Dr. Jonathan Santore and Michael John Trotta. Gunn regularly guest conducts and adjudicates at local and regional festivals. In 2018, he was a Conducting Scholar at the Delaware Choral Academy in Aix-en-Provence, France.

He lives in Plymouth with his wife Gaia and their two sons.

Abigail Charbeneau - Collaborative Pianist

Abigail Charbeneau

Abigail Charbeneau holds a B.A. in Music from Skidmore College and an M.M. in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Illinois. She has studied with Pola Baytelman, William Heiles, Arkady Aronov, Adaleina Krivosheina, Kenneth Drake, and Reid Alexander. She has been on the faculty at the Concord Community Music School and has taught piano at St. Paul’s School in Concord since 2000.

Charbeneau is the organist and collaborative pianist at South Congregational Church, Concord, a collaborative pianist at Plymouth State University, Plymouth, NH, and at St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH. She is the organist and the chaplain for the Advanced Studies Program at St. Paul's School. She has taught at Millikin University (Decatur, IL), the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign), Sonatina (Bennington, VT) and at the Cardigan Mountain School.

As a collaborative pianist, Charbeneau has played for student juries and performances, and musicals. She has been a consistent performer with the Musicians of Wall Street through the Music School in Concord, and played for many church soloists and choirs.
